Inserting sitemap: Google Search Console
To insert sitemaps, head to your browser and search “Google Search Console”, then click “Start now”.
Choosing a domain: This method allows you to add the entire domain to Google Search Console instead of individual pages
or subdomains. Meaning, you can add your site at once, no matter how many pages or subdomains it has. It is especially
useful, if you want to aggregate analytics and a comprehensive overview of all your domain performance in search
results.
Choosing an URL prefix: This method allows you to add a specific URL prefix to Google Search Console. Meaning, you can
add and monitor specific pages of a website, not the whole domain. It can be useful, if you need a more detailed
analysis and control over specific pages or subdomains.
Verifying a domain
To perform domain verification in DNS, you will need to add and configure a specific DNS record in your domain hosting
account. Usually, it is a TXT or CNAME insert, that gets added to the DNS zone of your domain with a unique value or
code piece, that ensures Google Search Console.
After adding this entry, you must head ack to Google Search Console and verify your domain ownership to complete the
verification process. Google will look up your domain’s DNS entry and check, if it matches the value you have provided.
If everything has been configured correctly, your domain will get verified and you’ll be able to access information
related to your domain in Google Search Console.
